While I think cards like that definitely have some play here, it does mean you're going to be drawing at straws for playable cards that don't make your deck a durdle-fest like blink can accidentally become in a lot of cases

You want to save your counterspells to stop board wipes , unless you need to counter a spell that is about to win your opponent the game

While Edgar Markov's other ability definitely makes attacking with it successfully valuable, just casting Vampire spells in general will amass a favorable board state
